Contoura PRK
Experience the next level of vision correction with Contoura PRK, a groundbreaking procedure offering exceptional clarity and freedom from glasses or contacts.
PRK (Photo Refractive Keratectomy) is a laser correction technique that involves removing the clear layer of surface skin (the epithelium) to provide access to the corneal stroma (the bed) for laser reshaping. This is utilised when the patient does not want a corneal flap, has a thinner cornea, or requires a specialised procedure due to previous surgery/disease/trauma. The patient retains all of the advantages of topographic guided ablation, Contoura with LYRA Protocol, as well as the possibility to develop a supranormal, more homogenous human cornea. This enhances the possibility of greater resolution vision, better than 20/20 vision, and reduced halo and night glare.
Recovery after CONTOURA PRK
The laser correction remains the same as with Precision LASIK, as will the visual goal over time, but the healing time is longer as the epithelium regenerates over 3-5 days. During this period, the patient may engage in typical activities such as using a computer, watching television, engaging in light hobbies, going shopping, and even going to the movies. Doctors advise against driving during that time and to prevent any activities that may cause dirt, sweat, or pollutants to enter the eye. After roughly a week, the patient has no physical limitations.

What is a Refractive error?
The outermost layer of the cornea bends light as it enters the eye during vision, and the lens that reflects it then focusses it on the back of the eye. If lighting isn’t properly focused, images can seem to be fuzzy.
Whenever the form of the eye prevents light from concentrating properly on the back of the eye, a condition known as refractive error develops. Besides other symptoms, hazy vision is one effect.
There are four main categories of refraction errors:
Nearsightedness (myopia)
Farsightedness (hyperopia)
Astigmatism
Presbyopia
Although refractive defects cannot be avoided, they can be identified during a visual examination and corrected using lenses that correct vision, such as glasses or contacts, or through surgery to correct them. They do not prevent the complete growth of good eyesight if treated promptly and by eye-care specialists.
Clarity vision provide the most cutting-edge refractive technology is available to patients of clear vision, and they may be sure that they will receive the surgery that seems most appropriate for them.
